The month of August has had us gearing up for the start of a new school year. Sarah is returning to teaching after a lovely long summer with the kids. Jonah started going to “baby school” as Ella calls it. He attends a day care two days a week so that Sarah can try to grade papers and meet her responsibilities with the Distance Education program. Ella will be starting Pre-K and tap & ballet classes tomorrow and she is so excited! And although Andrew is not going back to school, he will be playing on an adult soccer league this fall.
Jonah is sitting alone quite well. He is also creeping around the floor and gets where he wants to go even if it takes a little while. After sleeping through the night pretty consistently all summer, he has been getting up again in the night to nurse. We think that he is growing and that this is only a phase (at least we HOPE!). He is eating more and more “food” (if you call whipped and strained peas food!). He enjoys trying to feed himself veggie puffs and he usually gets about half in his mouth.
Ella has had a great summer. Lots of trips to the pool, playing with neighbors out front after dinner, walks and bike rides around the block and on the greenway, lots of trips to the library, and many lazy days to do craft projects and just play. She is on the verge of really reading and surprises even herself as she recognizes words or sounds them out on her own.
We had an outstanding week at the Beach with the whole extended Egan family. We had great weather and we loved being at the beach. Ella and Jonah enjoyed all the love and attention that they got from family and friends
We hope you are all doing well!
