Ella was very ill for most of February and part of March. We have discovered that in addition to her gluten intolerance, she is also dairy intolerant. This new dietary restriction offers new challenges for her; but after a very difficult few weeks, we are happy to know how to make her feel better. In addition, Jonah is now gluten-free. Since stopping all gluten, his serious rash on his face has disappeared.

Katie, baby Eddie, and Nana came for a visit for St. Patrick’s Day. We had so much fun with them. Eddie is a sweet little baby and Ella was thrilled to help take care of him. Jonah liked making him laugh, but he was not happy when Eddie got too much attention (especially from me). Jonah showed some signs of regression while Eddie was here, but he quickly recovered. Jonah did say: “Aunt Kate, Eddie is a G I A N T Baby!” Andrew, Jonah, Katie, Eddie and I went the museum to see the dinosaurs for Jonah and then enjoyed the Raleigh St. Patrick’s Day parade. Ella and Nana spent lots of quality time together.

Ella and Andrew spent a lot of time with the Y Princess program this spring. Bowling, Meetings, Spring Outing, Camping… they are really enjoying the Y Princess Program and Andrew has been elected “chief” for next year! They loved their time at Camp Seafarer and their first overnight camping trip was a great experience.

For Palm Sunday, Sarah helped organize a massive Easter Egg Hunt at our church. Ella helped hide eggs and then had fun collecting them. Jonah was a little overwhelmed, but got into the spirit of the hunt eventually. For Easter weekend, we had a great visit with Katie Rivers, Bruce, and Emily. The kids did really well together. We went to Wilmington on Easter afternoon and Joined Catherine’s family for a lovely Easter lunch and another egg hunt. Andrew, Ella, Jonah, and I spent the afternoon on the beach. It was a perfect way to spend Easter as a family. The next day, we went kayaking with Grandpa Warren and even though we got caught in the rain at the end, we had a blast. Jonah LOVES being in the kayak and Ella is trying to paddle.

For Andrew’s birthday, we celebrated by going to a Carolina Hurricanes Hockey Game and sat in the front row! Thanks to Uncle Joe and Tina for babysitting so we could go to the game!

Ella reached a major milestone—she learned to ride her bike without training wheels! She can zoom all over the neighborhood now. Jonah is getting better at riding his three-wheeled scooter.

As usual, we are enjoying all the wildlife in our backyard. Lots of bird and snake spotting.

Sarah finally finished up her semester and is looking forward to a great summer with the kids!
