Welcome to the Winter Edition of the Ella and Jonah updates!
In early January, Sarah took a quick trip to VA to spend the weekend with Katie as she turned 30! WOW!
Sarah, Leah, and Katie enjoyed a lovely SISTER DINNER. And Sarah loved going to Zumba at Katie’s gym. It was great to see Eddie and entertain him while Katie put her Christmas stuff away. Andrew and the kids stayed home and had an adventure weekend too—exploring in the creek and watching airplanes land and take off at the observation deck.
Nana (aka Sheilah) came for a visit and got snowed in! We had about 5 inches of snow on Inauguration Day. It was really great to be home and watching the Inauguration together. The kids were thrilled by the snow. Jonah ran to each window and yelled: “It’s snowing!” We had fun tromping around in it and sledding down the hills. Jonah liked it up to a point. Once his face and hands got cold, he was DONE! Ella would have turned into a Snowgirl. She did not care how cold it was. Farley was thrilled to romp around in the snow. I learned that I have a deep respect for parents in colder regions who deal with snow boots, hats, gloves, scarves, coats, snow pants on a daily basis!
Jonah has graduated from his crib into his “big boy bed.” He did NOT want to leave his crib… but it was time. The transition has been a little rough (for everyone) but he is getting better at staying in bed. Recently he has been waking up around 2am and coming to our room and announcing “It is dark. The sun is not up. But I am awake.” When I tell him he has to wait until the clock says 6:00, he responds: “That doesn’t make any sense.”
Andrew ran in the Krispy Kreme Challenge this year. 5,000+ runners start at NC State’s Bell Tower and run 2 miles to Krispy Kreme. They each eat a dozen doughnuts and then run the 2 miles back. All in 60 minutes or less. This was Andrew’s first year and he did it! Ella, Jonah, Uncle Joe, and Tina waited at Krispy Kreme and cheered Andrew on. CRAZY!
We are looking forward to SPRING!
Hope you are all well!
